Actually we had sunshine today in Iowa, which starts to get rare come mid-November. So I had a chance to stop by a park with a tripod & the simple DSLR, so take the following. Nice to be able to see some Cordovan FQHH in part to full sun!

Yes the sunshine was fun until around 11 AM and fine until about 2 - 3 PM then its turns furious until it sets around 5.30.

Early 1950s horsehide LAPD jacket by Cal Leathers.

It's in fabulous overall condition. I love the steak-like leather, mouton cuffs, early Crown zipper, the heft of the green canvas pockets.

Unfortunately, the waist is way too small for me. The overall length is also short.

I love the collar and overall Peacoat vibe.
It looks like a longhaired wool. Love the changeup from typical red/black plaids that are so typical.
Is this jacket profiled with specs in any other threads?
