LW Speed Demon - sneaking behind the clown for a naked choke but realised my arms were too short for his big neck!

Heading out to play cards with the boys. Not sure if the shawl collar is growing on me with this Thedi Markos. It’s a nice jacket but needs a fur collar and the sleeves shortened a bit. Had some productive dialog with Carrie at Thurston about modifications but she just blew me off. Must be grumpy at me for feedback I provided on FL at some point or something else. This one will likely go on sale soon.

Hi Barry,

Did you purchase this from Thurston Bros, directly from Thedi, or ??.

So here’s a story for you all. Back in ‘76/77 I got my first Schott. I was 19 or 20, living in Boston and heavily immersed in the local rock’n’roll scene motorcycle jackets were not all the rage there yet, but starting to creep in given the explosion of punk in the UK and NYC. Somehow I put together the dough to get a size 34 618. I weighed maybe 120lbs on my 5’7 frame and I just wore that thing everywhere. Well years past, and among the things that happened is I put on probably about 100lbs. About 9 1/2 years ago at age 59 I got sober and started eating better and working out. I’m now at a pretty tone 140. Today I was cleaning out an old closet and way, way in the back I found a leather jacket. I own several, mostly Brooks Gold labels and some Schott’s including a Japanese 641xx size 34. That one fits snug but o love it. Somewhere on this site there’s some pics of me in it. Well I pulled out the leather and lo and behold it was my old 618. I flipped out. Had completely forgotten about it. How I managed to hold onto this long is simply a mystery. Anxiously I tried it on and while it fit fine unzipped, I slmply could not get it zipped. Too small. Took it off and for a minute thought about selling and then came to my senses. It’s a part of my long also mostly forgotten youth. So I took it off and applied a healthy dose of Neatsfoot oil. Did some stretching of the leather and then gave it another go. And I got it. Very snug but still. And that was with thermal shirt and a tshirt. So took off the thermal and tried it with just the tee and was able to zip it up a little easier. Obviously still tight but I’m going to wear this thing around the house for a few days zipped and with a little more stretch I think it will work out nicely as a warmer season jacket, especially where I live in the cooler environment of the San Franciso Bay.

What size this one?
Interesting how compare to regular US size
Nice jacket! trying to find one.

This is **L.

I normally wear a 44 in Y2 jackets and a 46 in their western shirts.
I am either a 42 or a 44 in most makers, so this runs really, really small.

I just bought one for a Christmas trip to Montreal. Pictured here with my daughter. It worked very well to keep me warm. Was a bit surprised to see it was made in China, and there were a few QC issues; but I got it on a big sale and it served its purpose.
