Cold and kind of dark outside, but when you’re constantly in and out of the car, a leather jacket with a wool sweater is the better option.

Braving some post holidays shopping with the wife.

Turns out a 35+ year old Vanson is the perfect piece of winter kit, and I'll be rocking it all the way until spring. In mint condition after all this time. With the quilted liner, a warm shirt layer, and a thermal vest I'm good for just about any cold temperatures.

The part that really stands out to me though is the leather. Strong stuff like you'd expect from Vanson, but at the same time lighter weight and more pliable than anything from them I've tried. Fully layered up and moving around is a breeze!

To be honest, the blue « tartan » is beautiful but quite a disappointment in a way: I thought it was wool but it’s just a thin cotton, nothing warm. So, I don’t know how thick and warm is yours but it might be a better option.

I just had a look at the inside label...says lining is 100% wool. Tried taking a snapshot of the tag but my phone wouldnt focus good enough.

Just arrived, my ELMC Roadster. I'm pretty happy with the fit, I was worried it might be a little short in the body and sleeve but I think it's fine for the style. Its my first D-Pocket jacket, I quite like it for something a little different. I'm initial thoughts are, it's a keeper...

I have a J100 “ish” racer, but it’s quite different than a BR in design. Similar in fit, though. Mine has side panels and an extra panel on the lower back. Looks pretty close from the front!

Ha Ha, It actually went...but it was because it was to small after hitting the gym. I went up 2 sizes in the same jacket.

This one is the keeper now.

I forgot to post it earlier, but I've been wearing the blanket lined Big Smith chore coat and Big Smith bibs in my workshop the past few days.

27C at 7.30am today. Hence the Levis denim shirt/jacket (shacket ?)
Press studs but wider than ideal sleeves for riding. Plenty of air flow tho' !
Warm humid ride home at 1pm.
Leather would be almost unbareable then in 36C.
over a short sleeve T this was fine.
Horses for courses.....
