What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Agreed! The simplicity of the jacket indeed does let the hide do all the talking. It’s made by Jansha tanning. A Pacific Northwest tanning and leather goods manufacturing company.

If I have my history right, large items like this were made for customers who brought in their own hides. I love the idea of that. It’s cool as they were likely the result of a hunt. This hide shows many imperfections, bites, scars and deformities. Almost certainly home grown. It’s the second one I’ve owned. Had a rough out halfbelt too. Pretty cool!

It’s wild. Both jackets fit about exactly the same. Sold this one off a few years ago. Kinda wish I hadn’t!

Just searched ebay for the brand and looks like your jacket is back on the market - could also just be the same model. Maybe you contact the buyer ;)

I received my new surplus m65 and am wearing it today.

I was pretty ticked to find that it's a fairly late production ( '01 dated ) Alpha with a kraptastic ykk plastic tooth zipper, but otherwise the quality is what I'm used to.

I will admit that the zipper is buttery smooth, but I just hate the fact that the slider is painted pot metal and the teeth are plastic.

West Australian "copy" of an Eastman Luftwaffe jacket in black goat with light (and now well worn) black cotton lining.
Made bespoke for me over 25 years ago. Was worn almost daily for years as I rode motorcycles to work on all dry days.
It got a wear today in the roster as our motorcycle ride had a forecast top of 29C but 77% humidity.
jacket still fits well if a tad squeezy in the mid-riff haha...

A long gone company called Jansha Tanning Co out of Washington.
I had trouble turning up any info on the company, but they sure seem to have made quality stuff.
Actually they do still exist, under the name Quil Ceda leather.
