You're very patient. Deserves respect. At least you got a jacket to wear lol. I have been waiting for my Thedi order for three and a half years and counting...
It is a great looking and fitting jacket. However I can not say the same about the hide.
Before ordering I had asked and received a couple of samples. The brown tamponato deerskin was amazing.
What I received has nothing to do with the sample. What is however worse is that there are three different batches used for my jacket- and all three totally different than the original sample. Panels with super flat hide (I mean 5 star flat), panels with nice grain and panels that look and feel dried out (I am no leather expert but I hope they will not crack). I mean you see the difference in colour and texture between the panels, similar to what you see at the blue label aero's. With the difference that the Thedi cost 1750e.
And I only had 2 jackets that smelled worse than that. A 5 star horsehide and an aero battered steer.
Keep in mind that shoes are a much different story due to sweat, dirt, humidity and continous mechanical loading as you walk. That's a real shame. I've never had a deerskin jacket, but I had a pair of deerskin Trickers and they needed a lot of regular Bick 4 to keep from drying out. Not great on a jacket at that price point.
The is the second new deerskin jacket I have seen with similar complaints (can't remember where the other one was from, but I don't think it was Thedi). It makes me wonder if deerskin is just so seldom used that the makers are content to send out sub-standard jackets. I believe I will not order a deerskin jacket (unless it is pre-owned in very good condition) because of these reports from Loungers. It is a great looking and fitting jacket. However I can not say the same about the hide.

I am now at work so I made two photos fast with my cheap mobile. In the first photo I hope the difference in colour is visible. In the second I tried to capture what it feels dry. This is someething you feel rather than see, it feels much rougher than the rest of the grainy parts.@Harris HTM could you show examples of the hide issues? I’m not seeing much from the photos posted other than it’s a great looking jacket.
I received it in November 2024. I should have contacted them back then I guess. Can you send it back? Mismatched panels are one thing I wouldn't mind but dried-out would be absolutely a no-go.
Maybe this photo shows better what I assume might be "dry"?@Harris HTM could you show examples of the hide issues? I’m not seeing much from the photos posted other than it’s a great looking jacket.

Thank you sir! Means a lot to a newbie like me. I was trying to get into watches for a little bit, and while I now have a greater appreciation for horology, the prices were still beyond my comprehension haha. I’ve been into jackets since I was little, but this is my first time in the deep end, swimming with the big boys lol. And your money goes way longer with jackets than with watches, in my opinionThat 582 looks great on you dude! What does it look like zipped up?

Here’s it zipped up. I typically don’t zip up my jackets, and i don’t find this one to be particularly flattering either. I like it when the silhouette of the clothes is supported by the shoulders. View attachment 772057
PS- I think my "disappointment" (maybe too heavy a word, after the two paradigm shift events of the last year, the birth of my only child and the sudden and unexpetcted death of my dad, I will obviously not lose my sleep over a jacket) comes mainly from the fact that the expectations were really high: I had paid a lot, I got caught in the Thedi hype (justified or not it does not matter), I had admired in person @ABCD 's amazing thedis, I had waited 7 months for the jacket to arrive... so when I received although the difference in the panels was obvious I convinced myself to ignore it. In any case: ofcourse I will be wearing it and enjoying it- though with a bittersweet taste.
Also, I'm sorry about the disappointment you're feeling about this new Thedi (although it was some time back that you received it). Maybe try giving it a couple light coats of "Horseman's One Step" or "Urad - Tenderly". Either one will provide a significant improvement in "hydration" of the leather, quite similar to what a good hand cream does for our hands. See if that might help boost this otherwise very nice Thedi jacket.I am now at work so I made two photos fast with my cheap mobile. In the first photo I hope the difference in colour is visible. Is it visible what I am trying to say? Ofcourse no filters are used.
