I’m looking for a pair of black 5 pocket trousers in sateen or a duck canvas, with a 9.5-10” leg opening. Short of going custom, I haven’t found anything. Suggestions welcome!

Every time I wash them, I think to myself, "ok, this time I'm going to go at least 30-40 wears before the next wash". Then inevitably, I realize how silly that is and break down and wash probably after 10 or 15. Most of the wears are indoor hanging out around the house. If I was out sweating in them, they'd get washed probably every 5-10 max. The high contrast fades are cool, but I ain't got it in me.
Brings a smile with fond memories.

Riding American and British motorcycles in the 60's was a trip. They all bled something. Oil, gas, grease. They marked their place where you parked and also on anything you wore while riding.

Everyone that I ran around with had a special pair of jeans that they had sacrificed to the cause.

After the first weekend you tell yourself that they'll be good for another weekend. Pretty soon you fear the repercussions of ruining the washing machine. Like they could stand in the corner by themselves.

Nothing like getting caught in the rain only to see the water bead up on your jeans.

At some point you find yourself standing at the crossroads. Do you ruin every pair of pants you own or you just shrug your shoulders and resign yourself to looking like a grungy biker?

When I finally graduated to an oil tight bike I burned my riding jeans.

Then and now? Wranglers.

I’m going to go with Railcar’s Rebels with an inch added to the opening (bringing them to 9.5”). I just hope that doesn’t make them look too flared!

Continuing the Japanese splurge: new pair of Oni 20oz Secret Denim, in a semi-tight straight cut. Amazing denim - I don't how they do it, but it manages to be both formidably solid but also wearable straight out of the import bag. Love the things: slubby, fuzzy deep indigo, capable of keeping out the stiffest breeze and a very versatile cut: unlike anything else I own, and very, very cool.

Yeah, lol, I thought it was a black friday deal, but then I thought better of it. Great score, I myself am a bit tired of blue jeans and ivory for ten bucks sure got my attention.
Just regular stock clearance in the store's bargain corner.

If only I could real high waisted trousers or denim for cheap :(

Yeah, that's always the killer. I genuinely can't remember the last time I could walk into a mainstream shop and buy trousers that had a "waistband" than wasn't at least 3" south of my actual waist. It's probably closing in on five years now since I last bought any trousers at all anywhere but online.

Bought my first pair of selvedge jeans, I wanted a pair of mid priced jeans but went cheap in the end with a pair of Buffalo jeans selvedge, mainly because of the price and I know how the brand fits.

I’ll get some close up pictures of the actual jeans, I am curious to know the difference versus high end brands. I know some of them are slubby with the white specks of broken yarn, and some have patterns with a shiny sheen to them.

These were only $61 a piece on sale. I bought a dark pair and light sanded pair (which likely defeats the idea)

I wore the dark pair and soaked them to shrink a bit.
Now I just ordered a pair of Naked and Famous weird guy because they were heavily discounted at $108

This will do it for a while for regular jeans but I am going to try to find a loose weave slubby pair with similar measurements with a price for amateurs.
