What model Stetson Hat is this?

I bought this Stetson Cowboy hat real cheap to work-over as a fedora, but now that I have it: I Can't Do It!!!!!
The hat is just like an Open Road, but it has a 3 1/2" bound brim. The brim is a thin snap brim, just like the Open Roads I have. The logo on the liner is a cowboy watering his horse, but it is a far earlier design than my 20 year old Stetson. It also has the older round Stetson logo on the sweat band.
Anybody know the model or age of the hat?

I may have to bash it like a Span-Am campaign hat!:p
Did any of those have a bound brim?

Duck,
As I understand it, officers purchased bound brim Campaign hats. Here's a great selection of bashes just in case you're courageously serious about that style of bash.

The Spanish American War saw a wide variety of hats in use, due to volunteer and state units. So you can find some examples of hats that depart quite a bit from what we'd otherwise expect, during the war itself.
