WORST Record Albums EVER

Sometimes things get sooo bad that they are good.

Does anyone know The Shaggs? They were an all sister band that were forced together by their religious father in the late 60s. Until that point the girls had not been allowed to listen to music. Their father was told by a psychic that the girls would become a famous band, so he bought them all instruments, set them up in the cellar and forced them to practice every day for years. Eventually, he made them record their efforts and released an album, which was derided by just about everybody.

Years later, someone found an copy in a bin, loved it, and tried to get it re-printed. The album suddenly became very influential. Kurt Cobain said it was one of his favourite albums. Frank Zappa said they were better than The Beatles.
Their music takes some getting used to, but it's actually very catchy...

ARGHHH!! I haven't thought about that record in years. A flatmate used to own & it drag it out after drinking too many shandies. I do not thank you for the memories

When I was in college a professor of mine who knew I was a musician asked me if i wanted to hear the worst album of all time. I said sure and was presented with X In Search of Space. I think this is where my hatred for hippies was born.

Is this good? I've found that random hammond albums are often very good. 'Specially with such swingin' chicks on the cover. Rowr!

I actually have a small collection of Hammond albums. Solid Gold Hammond by Harry Stoneham is a actually rather good. Alas, the same cannot be said for my 'Ena Baga plays the happy hammond' collection.

Mr Hallack, you can see why...it appears Slim's middle section is full of a brown substance. Can't tell from here though...

Here's another awful album I like. In fact, it was the 1st album I ever bought when I was 6. It took me a long time to save up for this budget Geoff Love Orchestra album of disco versions of sci-fi movie themes!...

You know, I'll bet that that record in mint condition would be worth a pretty penny.

I've always thought that this cover was a winner in the bad taste category. It's a pretty darn funny album, though.

"When mother wasn't half a word" :lol: Reminds me of part of a Rat Pack bit where Sammy was trying to do a number and Frank kept on correcting him.
Frank: " A 'mother,' you mother!"
Sammy: "Gee, he just said half a word there, didn't he?"

I found the LP online and gave it half a listen. Don't think I'll be putting it on my iPod.
