:) I stumbled a across a New with tags attached Old (2003) DP 'official' fur felt Indiana Jones fedora for a good price. -I have to say, it is fabulous! The felt is very soft, has a 1 1/2" leather ventilated sweatband, full satin lining, nice ribbon, and the color is sweeet! -kind of a chestnutty brown with a dark dark almost charcoal ribbon. It isn't my size, as it is a 'Large' 7 1/4- 7 1/2 -ish, but I couldn't pass it up! I'll either sell it or try to find a retailer to trade me for a Medium. If anyone was on the fence about one of these like I was, get one and you won't be sorry!

This same model hat has come up on some of the other Indiana Jones threads. There have been so many officially authorized IJ fedoras that the expression is utterly meaningless.

From your comments and the pics, it appears to be a pretty decent hat, though in my opinion the nice ribbon's color does not coordinate well with the hat shade and, of course, does not match the ribbon in any of the IJ films, if that's important to anyone.

The reason you got a good price is because it's made by Dorfman Pacific. No matter what the quality of the hat, DP has a downmarket reputation that automatically hammers the price down.

Though I'd switch ribbons, I otherwise like the hat. If it were in my size, in that new condition, I'd give up to $35 for it.

I didn't realize that liner logo dated back to 2003. Regardless, you got a fair hat... better than most are willing to say. A friend has that exact hat, I think. He reshaped it, and has used it as an "everything" hat. It's now stained with sweat and bleached by the sun, but still in one piece! It's not the rolls-Royce of hats, but it does it's job.

Oh, by no means do I think this is a 'screen accurate' Indy hat. -But it is a great brown fedora. The quality of the felt, the sweatband and the colors all work really well together to make a nice hat.

I found the same hat marked "as is" and dropped in price to...$4.00 at The Village Hat Shop in San Diego. The "as is" referred to a small (and I mean small) bend along the right-hand side of the brim. This was easily corrected with a bit of distilled water. The original price on the tag was $45.00, and the size a comfortable XXL, which fit my 7 3/4 head just beautifully. And, as I said, aside from the small brim bend, the hat was in brand-new condition. This hat is not only durable, but looks fantastic. I'm proud to have it as a part of my collection. And, anytime you can pick up a hat for four dollars, do it!

Slouch- that was the wool version for $45. VHS sells this one (fur felt) for $105
I have 2 of the wool ones, a 1984 Stetson and a 1989 DP 'Last Crusade' version. -Gotta start somewhere!

Oh. Well, still one good-quality, and good looking hat. Thanks! I think I'll wear it out to my buddy's birthday dinner tonight.
I have to agree...my wool Last Crusade model from 1989 still gets worn.

If anyone is interested...just posted this in the classifieds to sale or to trade for a Medium.
