WWII Scrapbook - woohoo!

I'm so excited - I got this one on ebay and it's unused! But not for long - it will soon become my ultra-cool vintage - now scrapbook of Hamilton Field AFB where I live! I can hardly wait to get started!

By the way - if anyone comes across any vintage photos or ads, postcards, etc related to Hamilton Field (Army Air Base - located in Ignacio/Novato, CA) I'd appreciate a point in the direction. Especially from the war years. So far I've collected a few matchbook covers, a first day postal cover of the dedication, and a vintage magazine ad for Bank of America at hamilton field....

I also plan on taking lots of current photos - I live juust down the street from the hangars. I love it here. I used to have friends who lived here when it was still all military, and there's also still an active Coast Guard post here as well.

The restoration and additions are really great and it's a wonderful place to live.

Hamilton Field is located in Ignacio, CA 25 miles north of San Francisco. The base was built in 1932, and during WWII it was a major flight training base, with lots of additional barracks being put up for the incoming pilots, and was also a major take-off point for missions in the Pacific.
