Sorry gals, but.....

I think these post-war "blousettes" are the ugliest things ever created. I know rationing was still an issue and I'm sure the design had something to do with that, but I just see a pillowcase with holes cut out for the head and the arms and then belted at the waist. And there isn't a more unflattering blouse for women with a large bust (experience!) Talk about gaping. lol

Im not a drop shoulder fan myself, and these do look only a step up from a dicky.

I've been reading this thread for a week and laughing hysterically. I wish I had something to offer.

You too? :D

Gracie Lee and I saw some really awful sweaters during our shopping trip last week, I wish we had taken photos! One had what we thought was a squirrel, but the tag said "beaver sweater". It was pretty bad!

Amy Jeanne, you have the best pics ever! Those robes should be called the housecoats from hell! I hate them all more or less.

Also, the bag with the face coming out of it. Reminds me of a Cabbage Patch Kids bookbag I had when I was a kid. lol

^ Oh I really want that bag! It would be my absolute favorite! It looks a little like a Kewpie head. If anyone comes across one, or has an idea which search terms to use on e-bay, please let me know!

I did a search and found the cabbage patch bag http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Cabbage-Patch-Kids-Bag-Face-Purse-GREAT-/390206180975?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ada19ce6f
and a 30s shoe bag you might enjoy!

or this 20s coin purse w clara bow face:

Wow, there is something spectacularly awful about that but...I LOVE the cut of the shoes! With the skirt, not so much.

**Man, lookit the crease of that fella's pants. You could cut butter with those things!
