In honor of the first hard freeze of the season, a fulled wool cap I made a couple of years ago.

I made it out of a couple of old coats including a wool cashmere number that I wish I had back as it would have fit me again.

And some old school Woolrich deer hunting togs.

I hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start. I'm finding mine quite entertaining so far.

Love that hat Esther.
Super fine Borsalino today Daniele
Man, that's a nice OR Moon. I need me one of those.
Nice one Jeremiah. Hope the adventure is exciting.

Happy Saturday to all.

After some lengthy, patient and bizarre exercises involving a hat stretcher, containers of water, towels, boxes and a heating pad I think that the 1940s teal Dobbs Game Bird may finally be coming to terms that with all of its original parts it WILL be a 7 1/4 and not a 7.

This one is the brother of the green Dobbs I wore a couple of days ago. I sent some pics of that one in action to the gentleman who sold them to me from his father's estate. It was touching to read how happy he was that the hat his father treasured lives on as a small part of his legacy.

I apologize in advance for the number of shots (probably more suited for the Dobbs thread), but as I often do, I love the way the different light plays on the hat.

That is way too cool Matt. Great hat and nice job on expanding it. Though you could have saved yourself the trouble if you had just sent it to me, since I'm a 7.

Great Michael. I wish you had let me know your size last spring. [emoji6]

Great work on that cap. I always admire the gravitas of the folks around here like you who have the talent and patience to artfully make their own creations. Sadly, I was born with 20 thumbs (oddly, my toes are thumbs, too).

Have a great one, my friend.

Matt

Looks great on you, moon and that thing is pristine. It's also one I'm constantly on the hunt for. All the OR clones I have and not a single Stetson.

thanks Greg ...
this one is special indeed and in amazing condition
I don't handle many of my hats with kid gloves ... but this one I do

Me too! I love that hat on you! The odds of me finding one in my size in teal would be astronomical. So I'll just have to enjoy seeing pics of yours Matt.
Thanks, Jack. From this ad it looks like they produced a veritable rainbow of colors.

It is good to see that folks like Art Fawcett are out there very successfully trying their hands at such variety.

What size do you wear? While I am generally trying to avoid the bay like the plague for financial reasons, when I do (guiltily) visit, I'll keep my eyes peeled for nifty creations to send your way for your consideration.
Enjoy.
