My newest Gannon, beaver felt in Natural. This one is even better than the last, which was purchased about a year ago. Mr. Gannon's finishing work is superb, and as usual, he was very attentive to the details. This is only the second sharksgill he has done for a customer, with Eric's Executive clone being the first. I think he did a fantastic job. This is a great hat. The fit is spot on, as usual, and he captured the look I had in my head when I went into this one. I'm continually impressed by his work, and very, very happy with this hat.

Just an RCH over 5 5/8" open crown, 2 5/8" brim. The color is Natural, the ribbon is Champagne, which to me is a little chameleon-like depending on it's surroundings. I was sort of modeling Bob's George Eakle for this one.

I opted for one of these type of sweatbands he is now offering. Not sure what you call the finish, it doesn't have the "shiny" finish on it. It is, however, very soft and comfortable.

The new brown liners look pretty classy, too.

Glad to finally catch up with the detail shots of this beauty. Just stunning Jim. I'll have to ask for the new sweat band style, very interested in how it wears. Now that you and Eric have broken Mike in on doing shark's gills, I'll get serious on a design for mine. I am impressed.

New hat day in the next week! Sweet anticipation.

My new hat is very similar to Jim's most recent hat. Not deliberately planned to be like Jim's in any way. Characteristics and proportions suited to my desires,a short balding guy. Natural felt, taller straight crown, bound edge and gill ribbons.

Best to all, Eric -

Very cool, Eric. Sort of a mid-ribbon cousin to Mr. Natural. What color and width is the ribbon?

Ribbon is sand in a 12 ligne. I do prefer the look of the mid-ribbon hats at the moment.

I did ask for champagne, but alas no ribbon in my smaller size request.

Wow! You guys are going to convince me I need a new hat in natural beaver felt! Crazy nice lid, Eric. Nine gills? Is that a new record? Very sweet, indeed!
I think that the number of gills works as it is proportionate to the size of the ribbon and the side of the crown.

Thanks for the likes fellows. Eric -

Thanks. Gills rule!

+5 (I'm voting multiple times). I really like your style Eric and really love Michael's ability to work out exactly what we want. True craftsman.

Thanks Fourman. Mid-ribbon or thin-ribbon guy here.

That is tempting me mightily,Eric :).
RJR; Michaels got the pouncing dial in. His ribbon work, as shown by the gill is mighty!

damn nice piece Eric ...

Thanks Anthony. Michael's gill ribbon work on this hat has exeeded my expectations. I will ellaborate when I am able to wear the new lid. Keep wearing the Gannons sir!

I've been keeping away form this thread because I've got other expenses at the moment and seeing all these amazing hats makes me REALLY want one, or two, or . . . Anyway, just wanted to say that I just had to have a peek in and catch up with the latest Gannons you all have posted and man, every one is a certified winner. Damn you gents have some class! Talk about inspiration! You hear people talk about 'there was time when men used to look sharp and they wore fedoras', well, that time is now and the place is right here. Keep 'em coming Eric and everyone. Ain't no showing off here, just brothers o' the brim sharing a bit of style and taste. Heck, it wouldn't be the Fedora lounge without any fedoras!

Incredible Eric! This gill work will be pushing me over the edge real soon. Not sure about color combo yet, I have a bone Homburg/Lord's Hat on order with Mike Miller. I might have to go a touch darker, whiskey is still calling.

Consider-Miles; I have been thinking of the different beaver felt hues this morning. Infinite number of reasons to select a different hued felt hat for wearing. I can think of many occasions when I broke matching schemas and when I checked my reflection I liked what I saw. Warm felts with cool clothes, warm hued clothes with a cool hat - you get the idea. When I match to carefully, the reflection in the mirror looks too forced.

How about a couple other color comparisons of Gannn beaver felts?
