PC means "Post Cibum". It's Latin for "After Meals".
I think it might mean other things, too. I'm not sure, though.
Had to ask myself, at one time. Politically Correct. Still not sure what it really means.
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming. I am expecting my Churchill 50X to be delivered today. Fingers crossed.

Great find! It was made by Mayser under license. Is the liner glued in? If so it's probably early 1960s.
To clean I would vacuum the outside felt but make sure to avoid the liner and sweatband. If you have a hat steamer (or a modified kettle) I would hit with some steam and see if you can get it back into shape (it actually looks ok in the photo). To finish just brush with the nap (counter clockwise) with steam.

Yeah, I see smallish glue points holding the liner in... thanks for the info. I do need to steam it I think. The black color makes it hard to see in the photos, but the felt where the pinch should go is a bit rippled and doesn’t want to hold a stable form. Also the brim is riding high on one side - it was shipped in what could only be called a shoebox, so no surprise. I’ll post in the German-Austrian thread once I get it prettied up a bit.

You seem to have much better thrift shops there, nice find and matches that coat too. I don't have much luck with our local thrifts here in Austin and rarely even see a hat in them.

First off: many many thanks go out to Richard Morgan for trading this hat with me (as I'm lucky enough to have the pin-head that is able to wear it). Dobbs gamebird in dark grey heather and longhair finish. This one has all the whistles and bells because it has the "trusize" feature too and a gilt edge. Anything else? Yes: the liner is embroidered! This hat has presence: a wide (almost 3 inch) brim, a pronounced flange and it insisted on the diamond crease. I'll need two postings for this.

Stefan, that's a fantastic hat. Maybe the nicest bird we've seen. I believe we have seen an ad for the "Mixtures" from Dobbs before, but I don't know that I've seen one of the hats.

Mine is not identified as a "Mixture" on the sweatband. Although, it is a heathered felt mixture.
