Rocking the "Black Bear" fur-lined Langlitz this morning. Just arrived last night. I'm blown away by the condition. I did some research on the name in the pocket, and it was made for a Harvard Botanist named Herman Roydon Sweet from Medford Mass. He had this made in 1963. First Langlitz I've seen with Conmar zips.

Omg, omg. And the provenance! What a story, what a jacket, what a fit. Congrats.

First post here. Been learning a lot from this forum reading on fit and great to see how different jackets complement different body shapes. Bout time I contribute back to the conversation instead of being a fly on the wall.

Wearing a cowhide cafe racer from Thurston Bros’ house brand, Pacific Leather Cycles in size 38. Leather is competition weight so thick and stiff. The cowhide has a matte finish and a decent amount of grain. Only two complaints is that there isn’t an inner pocket for my phone and the leather creaks a fair bit when moving my arms around; especially around the elbows.

That's a great fitting jacket!

Amazing, congrats you have a great jacket and a great fit. I was born the same year your jacket was made; let's just say your jacket has aged better than I have! :)

I get where the criticism is coming from. Interestingly, they're not usually an issue. I've posted the same jeans here several times and nobody said anything. I probably was just wearing them slightly higher in this pic.
Just wait till you get into your fifties; managing your ever sagging "junk silhouette" becomes a nuisance and part time occupation. Right up there with overnight ear hair growth and unregulated flatulence in close quarters with others :)

Same point here as with the pants. Let folks alone. A person's pants, and their gender, are up to them not you or me. I mean, this is a forum for mostly dudes geeking out on fashion, which is stereotypically feminine. If you're here, you're already shifting gender boundaries. I joined this forum because it seemed like a positive supportive space where folks shared enthusiasm and know-how. A forum for making judgments about others and lobbing insults about their choices just isn't as fun, so cut it out. If you don't like someone's pants/jacket/hat, give them some grace and keep it to yourself.
One of the recent lost arts of being a man is the ability to be honest with eachother through opinion sharing; with a genuine intention of helping the other person. As men we would punctuate that opinion with a degree of humor and sarcasm to drive the point home and help it stick. It's also how we test eachother to see if we are tough enough to take it, and be worthy of each other's trust.

As a new member you should be respectful of long standing member's conversations with eachother and pic your spots more carefully; sadly another lost art were the Newby sat quietly and listened out of respect whether they agreed or not. And also we can keep the " gender" and " typically female" talk out of it. No one on this site talks about politics or religion either as this forum is an escape for most of us from all of that. A shared interest in fasion-thats it, that's all.

Wearing my old Steerhide Aero Highwayman bought used off da Bay. Just had the zipper repaired by the fine folks at Johnson Leathers in Frisco. Came out smashing, per usual. No pics of this jacket at the moment but I'll get some soon. Need help identifying the age, its got one of those weird orange labels and an orange plaid lining... Despite that its a great jacket!
