bolthead, those are fantastic photographs! You've got a great eye and know how to put together a photograph that truly showcases the beauty of your subject! With an Alley Kat hat from Tim, you've got a knockout subject to work with. Tim, as usual my friend, you've created some true masterpieces with these hats. I know from experience, you just know how to create hats with the dimension, brim, ribbon, crown, and real personality that work! I like em!!!!

Thank you so much, that also is one thing we do here a few times a day. The Lord does bless everyone so much, we just have to be "open" to notice those blessings as they come. Thanks again, you are a dear person.

It seemed when ever i was feeling really down....I would get a text from Johnny. Many years of communications my friend. Thank you. How you helped me, you'll never really know. I am grateful to know you and have you as a friend.

He has encouraged me to try my hand at making a 1940's inspired stetson.
What better way to do that with than with these stunning colors.

Really what an amazing gift.

You are most welcome Esther. And the supply is endless. There is dark brown, old manufacturing writting on boxes calling out "coffee brown" it is 1-1/2 wide and she has various widths so look out ; possible whippet like looks....possible stetsonian looks.....I gave her that wonderful green, its like candy apple green.....3/8 width, and a Lavender in 3/8. Stratoliner inspired hats.....

Let me make request right here...... How many will respond? ??????????? Go to her thread.....

Esther's Americana line....tributes to 2 John B. Stetson's. Start responding to her thread with interest. .....

So ok.....Kat out of the bag.....she will be able to offer 2 very unique Stratoliner inspired hats with era appropriate vintage ribbon. Is there crowd roaring .....drums banging.....beer glasses clashing .....???? Put some encouragement on her thread.

She might like you guys polling .....what would be another style?......whippet.......stetsonian....... ??Throw them out there....something using 1.5 inch main band......3/8 5/8 and 7/8 which i believe was in the bag for brims.

I'm looking for support to her thread on this subject. Thanks all.

She does not know I was writting this. Please give her a shout out on her thread. Thanks!

How would the dark brown look on my hat? Would that be a better choice than the #8?

Looking at Bolthead's photos, I couldn't help thinking that if those shots appeared in one of those magazines like "Guitar Afficiannado" that cater to guys with money to burn there would be a line a mile long of people wanting an Alley Kat. The photos are really top-notch, and so are the hats.

And I know a Knot Head from KY that would be in line for a few dozen .... Johnny "Captain Jack Sparrow" Depp . Which is Cool with me , he's married a Gorgeous Young Woman , and has really done a lot to get the younger folks thinking Fedoras . He's bought from others on here . ... now that I think of it , he may be a lurker , or a member of the Lounge .

Wow! What a great gift. Can't wait to see your take in a 40s Stetson, Esther.

Tim, that was a super cool and very generous thing to do, sir.

The Gran Torino arrived this afternoon. Right out of the box and on my head, fit like a glove. My best fitting hat of the lot. Tim did a fantastic job modifying a standard block into a long oval. Its crazy how perfect this hat fits my head. Now, on to the felt. Its beaver. I cannot say or describe how well Tim pounced and lured the felt. I have felt and own Winchester beaver, and it is not as soft and malleable as this one. It must be seen and touched to believe how soft and even the felt finish is, truely. Compared to other customs I have ( from 3 hatters), the felt feel and finish is the best. I am sure I will get knocked for saying so, but it feels a lot like my 40s 7XCB. Again, I cannot believe how Tim manipulated the felt. Also, the wind cord and ribbon....both vintage. Working with Tim was easy, even though he may not say the same about me. [emoji14]
He is very responsive, sent pics through the whole process, and is always available on the phone, text or talk (even if you just want to shoot the breeze). I would absolutely buy another, with no question. I also requested a dark sweat, which he did not have in stock. He used the one black sweat he had that was reserved for a hat he was going to make for himself. (He is getting new sweats soon). Hell of a guy. I would urge others to buy one of Tims, and compare the felt finish and customer service to others. My pics pale in comparison to Kurt's, but here is the "Gran Torino". 3" bound brim and 5 3/4" open crown.
