No hat while pulling the engine from our 1940 GMC. How I love that remark: "What are you doing this weekend?" "Oh you know, usual stuff, pulling the engine out of The General." There's so much casual, it's no big deal, about that remark, and it probably is, no big deal. Besides, if it becomes a problem you can call Lizzie.

Here we are again, usual pose, showing off as ever.

There was a time when two wheeled transport was our pleasure. Nowadays I couldn't ride a motorbike even if I had one. If you have ever had, or ever needed, a hip replacement, you'll know why. Still I have lots of happy memories and not once did I ever come off, have a collision or even a near miss. Grateful for that.

In the: Show Us Their Hats, thread, I posted photo of demobilised soldiers in their demob suits. Some time ago at a family function, my sister gave me a copy of a photo that I had never seen before. It depicts my parents and I at London's Portobello Market. My father is wearing his demob suit. So taken with that suit was I, that I had a tailor make a copy. A fine job he made of it too, how I love it. Only problem is, I can't find a photo of it where I'm without a hat. I am, however, hatless in this photo. By the way, if you are interested, the date is August 1948.
