I absolutely agree to Hondo´s explanations.
There are so many photos in the books where different styles of scarfs can be seen.
In the 1991 Mephis Belle movie Billy Zane wore a red silk scarf with white polka dots. I believe it was a private used scarf and the director and prop master have...
Cobden,
I really don´t know much about Royal Navy nor Army impressions or uniforms, but what I can see is looking interresting. Would you like to explane a bit?
Cheers,

Hi Peter, welcome on board! You sure will find here what you are looking for - I bet.
I am related to the movie buissness a little. My saddle partner and "co-pilot" is a guy who rents weapons and police stuff to german movie productions. By the way. Me and him can sometimes be seen on TV as...
My favourite unit also is the 91st BG, 324th BS of the 8th AF.
I did some research about them on the web and got intouch with two veterans of the 91st: Mike Banta (35 missions) and Verne Woods. Both e-mailed me some information about the missions and B-17s of the 91st and added some links where...
I did it!
Thinking about some selfpainted leather squadron patches for some time. Today I nearly finished my first one.
8th AF, 91st BG, 324 BS
Have to dry it for a few days and will cover it with a coating. It will be sewn on my Sefton A-2.
more to come...
Hey Doc,
I am still grinning:D
It is caused not only by the smell. The moaning of Pink Lady as her engines started and she began to roll to the flight line was an other reason. :D
It wasn´t my last visit to Duxford...
Hola compadre!

Welcome on board. These are great pics.
I don´t know much about the spanish civil war, but it is a pleasure to learn about that from you.
Keep on posting!

Hi Roy,
was looking for you and your kids (with the little painted A-2s);)

The MP wouldn´t do nothing, I think, as we stood there in USAAF kit.

Oh, yes Doc, we did! It was a pleasure to change some words with you but it was a shame that we didn´t meet some more of you guys [huh]
- Maybe next time :)
Thanks
I also have to thank Paddy, for a special thing. Everything ran fine, the letter was there in time ;) .
We also had a great time in Duxford. Every mile we rode to go there (nearly 1000 miles to the UK and back) and every Pound we spent was worth it. :eusa_clap
Our digi cams ran...
Howdy folks,
last weekend me and my saddle partner headed to Duxford, to visit the Flying Legends Air Show. We decided to spend the nights on a campground a few miles north west of Duxford in a little town called Fowlmere.
Here we found an USAAF MERMORIAL. Read what we found out...
Duxford here we come!
Exactly 30 hours from now and we are starting our engines and take off to Duxford.
We will do the folding chair thing and look forward to an exciting weekend. Hope to meet some of you guys. How about a group pic of Lounge members with an interresting war bird in the back...
Hi Dan,
I own a pair of service boots, that Mike is talking about. Keith sent them very quick to germany and the quality is just as well as the ones from AT THE FRONT. A good buddy of mine is wearing a pair of AT THE FRONT like me for a half year now and we are also using them while motor...
You exactly got it, Roy! Our flight suits and A-2s were soaked with sweat! It was hot and the humidity was very high, forced by the nearby river. As we left the camp, heavy thunder storms went over this area. But nevertheless we weren´t in the mood to drop our cloths lol
