I'm not familiar with bridle leather details (maybe bridal leather....;) ) but I do have a derby with a sweatband marked "English Tanned Calf". Its very soft and nice.

I don't think so...

English bridle leather is probably too thick and stiff for a sweatband. I see it advertised on higher end belts, and - surprise - horse tack.

All of which reminds me of the old joke:

The desk clerk asks the honeymooners, "Do you want the bridal suite?"

To which the blushing bride replies, "No thanks, honey, I'll just hold onto his ears until I get the hang of it."

Not sure of it for a sweatband - I think the processes it goes through (tanning\oiling\waxing) wouldnt give it the right charcteristics for a sweatband.

But it makes a great strop for a straight razor. It gets a lovely smooth shaving edge - and has a nice draw in use.
