Those of view who visit Club Obi Wan will have seen that I bucked up enough courage to cut the brim following the instructions posted there.
So far, so good.
The overall dimensions are now roughly the same as my precious pre-WW2 Dobbs but I'm having a real problem getting a smooth curl at the back and sides of the brim combined with a swoop at the front. I'm starting in line with the front of the crown and working my way back along each side with my fingers and plenty of steam. But I'm having a problem getting the curl to stay up and also where the two curls meet I'm getting a kink. It just moves further along as I try to smooth it out As I'm trying to get a stylish 30's look rather than Indiana Jones the above instructions aren't helping me much.
I'm starting to sweat, and it's not just because of the steam !
Any tips, please, on getting a nice curl and swoop into a flat brim ?
