Turner Classic Movies is showing Dangerous Female, the first filmed version of The Maltese Falcon, starring Ricardo Cortez as Sam Spade, made ten years before John Huston's classic.

I have not seen this version, so I'm looking forward to it. It will be interesting to compare the two.

Friday morning, 9 September, 8:30 a.m. ET, 5:30 a.m. PT.

I saw that one before on TCM

I enjoyed it. They even filmed a scene from the book that was not in the Huston/Bogart version.
Bogart actually looks more like Cortez than he does Spade's decription in the book.

Sincerely,
The Wolf
