I bought this jacket it at a local thrift store for a few dollars. I am thinking of having it taken in for my son to wear to the QM.

Can we make this work with a newsboy style cap, wool pants, suspenders, shoes, etc.?
Comments, critiques, and suggestions are welcome!

The style is common enough in the UK (particularly Scotland) and is generally regarded as dressy but practical evening wear. They are often cut to be worn with a kilt. Here's one of mine below.

The example above seems more kitsch than practical - note the false button-down pocket flaps and err...lining. Probably not worn around the Highlands and Islands, then... Whether it would go with the clothing you describe is a matter of opinion, but I would say it looks more 70s than 30s. Just my opinion.
