I'm looking for either a compliation album or good individual ones with music from the 1920's to 50's. One cd doesn't have to have that range.

I'm especially interested in the songs from the Jeeves and Wooster series.
I prefer recordings by the original artist. Thanks in advance

Back around 1990, RCA issued a series of CDs called "Nipper's Greatest Hits". There was one or two cds for each decade from the 20s to the 60s...and beyond, I think.

I checked and found they are still available from the larger retailers like amazon.com at around $7.95 each. I have the whole set and think they are a good value.

Or my online radio station, where you can hear music from 1925-1955.

As far as CDs, I suspect the best you'll do is a CD for each decade you're interested in (and it won't be long before you'll want much more than just a single collection per decade).

Hi Anglophile.

I know several of the songs from the Jeeves & Wooster series (Fry & Laurie, yah?)

I'll list them here so you can try find them:

Background tunes:

The Blue Room.
Anything Goes.
Mood Indigo.

Played by Bertie on the piano:

Nagasaki,
Minnie the Moocher.
Puttin' on the Ritz (rather BADLY!)
I Lift Up My Finger (and say 'tweet tweet!')
Oh By Jingo!
47 Ginger-Headed Sailors.
A Sunny Disposish.
Goosey Goosey.

Thank for this. iTunes has most of them.
