That one's The Three Caballeros,
from "The Three Caballeros" (1945)

Hint: This tune is neither Bing nor the Andrews Sisters.
"Ridin' the range once more
Totin' my old .44
Where you sleep out every night
And the only law is right"

Pal, you're breaking out the good old theme songs from some of my favorite shows.

Back in the saddle again.
Back where a friend is a friend.
Where the longhorn cattle feed
On the lonely jimpson weed,
Back in the saddle again.

Gene Autry.

Here's one from a western movie, and you should all get this.

Purple light, in the canyon,
That's where I long to be.
With my three good companions,
Just my rifle, pony, and me.

And, my favorite version of this song is done by the same artist as sang the above. Mind you, the first time the song came out, it was country: But you only get the first two lines

See the pyramids along the nile,
Watch the sunrise on a tropic isle

"Just remember darling all the while
You Belong to Me."

One of the truly great love songs.

Here's one.

"Did you ever pass the corner of 5th and Grand?
People gather round and they clap their hands.
He's a great big bundle of joy.
He pops a boogie woogie rag,
the....."

I don't know that one, sorry!

What about this one, firmly planted in the 20s and 30s...( favorite decades)

I'm a sentimental sap, that's all
What's the use of trying not to fall?
I have no will, you've make your kill
..........................."

Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy. Good old Red Foley.

Here's one. Now, honestly, I don't even know who wrote this song. I don't even know who made it famous.

Breakin' up the rocks on a chain gang,
Breakin rocks and serving my time
Breaking up big rocks on a chain gang
Cause I been convicted of crime

Hold it steady right there, while I hit it
Oh lordy, that oughta get it,
Been workin, Lord just workin',
But I got me so terrible long to go.

Skipping a few verses to my favorite:

Captain said "Son you better watch your behavior"
Or you gonna work just like a natural born man.
Told the captain "you can meet your savior"
Come on close to this hammer in my hand.

"It's The Animal In Me"
(1934, lyrics by Mack Gordon.)

What makes something in me cry......
Don't divide, just multiply
Let me free, yes siree
Can't you see......
That's the problem.
That's the cannibal.
Yes sir. Yeah man.
It's the animal in me.

Yes, that's absolutely correct! :eusa_clap
It was written by Lorenz Hart in 1928 and Bing Crosby sings it in the version I own.
Thanks for replying TailendCharlie :)

Hut-sut, rawlson on the rillerah and a brallah, brallah sooit!

I hate to interrupt but I believe this is the song that Kirk Douglas sings with the guy trapped in the Navajo cliff dweller's cave in the movie An Ace in the Hole (1951). It was on TCM this evening. If I hadn't kept up with this thread, I'd not have recognized the song. It's a catchy tune for a cave-in.

Now back to fun and games. ;)

Another novelty song that once stuck in your head, stays stuck, includes the following line of random dialogue:

"Give dat boy some castor oil!"

This tune played over the pre-show sound system at the theatre the other night, and our 15-year-old popcorn boy has been repeating that line ever since.

Name that tune!
