Gray Sitterly Co. Stetson Fedora with ornate sweatband gold stamped "John B. Stetson" and "Stratoliner" below it. The unreeded sweatband is a work of art but has seen better days as you can tell from the photos. The hat has all the features of a 30s era hat but the only contradiction is that the Stratoliner line was not introduced until the early 40s! and it does not look like a Stratoliner so the hat is a mystery. My guess is that the hat is from the early 40s at the latest. The hat was sold at the Sitterley Co. Stetson Hat store in Pittsburg, PA. The photo on the bottom (right side) is a 1934 photo of the Sitterley Co., Stetson Hat store.
