Has anyone read this book? I couldn’t find any other posts about it.

I just picked it up yesterday. It’s by Alistair Cooke. He traveled the country in 1942 recording everyday life in America and how it was being changed by the war. He had just finished writing it in ’45 when the war ended. The publisher decided not to print it and it was forgotten, until a couple of years ago just before Cooke’s death.

It looks to be a promising read. A new, contemporary look at daily life in 1940’s America.

I saw the Alistair Cooke book into Barnes & Noble, but I'll have to wait until it goes to paperback to buy it. Looks like a very good read.

I LOVED the television series Homefront. I have the entire second season on tape (just taped from television, unfortunately.) I am hoping they will eventually release it on DVD. I'd definitely buy it.
