I figured out that I wear a size 7 3/8, maybe a hair under that actual size. I have a felt hat that size that fits good. And I have a couple 7 1/4 that I stretched to fit pretty good. My question is that I just got a tophat that is 7 3/8 but it feels a bit big. With a felt hat I can pad under the sweatband to make it a bit snugger. The tophat doesn't have a sweatband like that, just a nice silk liner. I want to make the hat a bit snugger without damaging the nice liner. Any suggestions?
