I'll take that as a compliment :D 5"..to be sure. I like your Zorro avatar! I am wearing a new 5" brimmed black "Zorro" myself this morning. I am almost single handily trying to make those looking to traditional Califoirnio attire to realize it was a short flat crown that is traditional and not the current Nevada ashtray/telescope

It certainly is! Although it's not a hat I could wear where I live, I like the look of it. As for the Zorro-hat: I'm still trying to add a "cordobes" (that's what they're called) to the collection, but good ones are very hard to find.

Sun also today, Friday, and a little bit warm. The black French continues....

Mossant in heather felt, thin ribbon

It arrived with dust and bread crumbs on the crown. It was completely shapelees

The felt is soft with medium hair and a white-grey-black color that changes off and under the sun

I spent some time to give it a shape and I'm now quite satisfied

Have a nice Friday. Thanks for the likes on the Flechet Diplomatique
I can see why; it's a great looking hat. These heather hats are always very soft in my experience. It makes them very comfortable to wear, but they lose shape quickly.

Well, we've finally made it to Friday. Yipee.

@Wesslyn, I echo the others' congratulations. It's good to see you got your album out. Best of luck with it; hope to see you on the Grammies next year!

@Daniele Tanto - great heather!

Wormser "Supreme Quality" for me today.

You may have just solved a mystery for me Richard. I have a Stetson I bought on ebay from a seller in Ontario. That hat had the same gold size tag as yours. So maybe the hat I bought was a Canadian Stetson also.

Definitely Canadian. The gold tags were only used on the Canadian Stetsons. I think they were made by Biltmore under license from Stetson.

Great find, Daniele. Fléchet did these special finishes really well.
In Italy, Borsalino docet, the hatters used to call this finishing on the felt as "ferro francese"
I can confirm that in my French collection the examples I have are superb

This Mossant drive me crazy because it was for many years shape less and the felt has now some bubble that is hard to shape.
By the way it is a marvellous example of heather for which we share a passion

Today's paper! Although the picture isn't from today. I had a trusty lightweight Stetson Sovereign on.

I'm currently too scruffy to wear my typical garb without looking like a beatnik. I dunno how all you guys pull off the bearded look so well. I'm sincerely jealous .
Congrats on the album, Wesslyn!

On this merry Friday morn', I head out under an old Nutria Borsalino. The color is mirtillo, which translates to blueberry.

Goes well with a Jerry Garcia tie.

Greetings Matt et al:
A Rat of distinction!
In the hat dictionary next to Homburg it said “see this”.
Now, dump the tie and let’s see it atop the Joseph’s Amazing Technicolor Jacket! Only you can pull it off!
As always, Be Well. Bowen
