If you like to buy a winter-woolcoat, make first sure, that the woolcoat has inner lining AND padding, not inner lining only! Or check the wash-care-label first ("filling material"/"padding").
My second woolcoat was such a mispurchase. I always wondered, that the coat isn't warm enough, below +5°Celsius.
First, I thought of other reasons. But then, I realized, that it's just no wintercoat, but rather a transitional-coat. And I researched on the internet and indeed, the coat was partly described as "autumn-coat".
Later, I checked the inner lining and there's really no padding under it! So, the reason was found. And of course, there's no "padding" on the wash-care-label.
In compare, my padded tweedcoat is still warm enough at -13°Celsius (winter 2015 to 2016) and my padded Caban-jacket maybe similar.
