Holy Grail

Ok guys,
I was thinking, which can be a bad thing, is
there a hat that is your "dream hat"? A hat
that you do not have because it's to expensive
, rare, or you just can't bring you self to wear.
Just wondering!

Why, this one of course.

I really like the 'crown' on it.

I'll play. A hat I would truly buy (if I could afford one :) ) would have to be the Amon Carter model of the Shady Oaks in beaver from Peter Bros. here in Ft. Worth. It's normally made with an raw edge brim, I'd have mine made bound and a flat 1/2" ribbon w/ bow ala an LBJ :) Am waiting for my winning Lotto ticket to buy it :) ( pic is from Peter Bros.)

Well, thanks to Buler, I have acquired one of mine, a Penney's Marathon whippet style just like my grandfather wore when I was a wee lad. I do have another, and that is a custom made hat from a fellow in Bisbee, Az. His name is Grant and he runs Optimo Hatworks down there. My wife pointed it out to me on a trip to Bisbee and I went in and visited with him for an hour or so, then went back the next day. I have been lusting after one of his creations ever since, and I feel that one is in my future. Not sure when, or what it will be yet, but I am excited just to consider the idea.

Im looking for any fedora from the turn of the 20th century-late 20's in size 7 or small 7 1/8. I know that the most popular style around the FL is the 40-50's c-crown bash with wide brim and tall crown. Lately, ive been wearing tall, center dent crowns with shorter brims (2 to 2 1/4). I love that look. It just seems to go with my "fedora personality" so well. There's something about those 1920's gorgeous leather sweatbands, wide 2 or 2 1/8 inch ribbons, and beautiful liners that really appeal to me.
