Spotted an Art Fawcett hat today in Winchester, VA. From the felt and bow work, I could pretty well guess who made it before asking the man wearing it what it was. Sure enough, a forest green, raw edge, diamond creased work of Art.

How fast is the turn-around time for Art's work once he has the conformer? At what point in the process do you specify ribbon and outer lining (around the brim)?

It depends on how many hat orders he has at the time, but 8-10 weeks seems to be the norm. Though in the past I've recieved some quicker or slower than that. Art will contact you right before he starts to work on your hat to hash out the details with you. And the wait doesn't get any easier, no matter how many VSs you have. Congrats and you will love it when it arrives.

Excuse my naiveté, but what does "on the block" mean. That he is working on your hat?

My VS made the front page of the paper today! We've had a bit of winter weather this week, and I didn't even realize a photographer for the Middlesboro Daily News snapped this picture. My sweetheart and I were headed into the local coffee shop after an early dinner. Even through the snow and from a distance, the black cherry really stands out.
