What are you wearing today??

Back in my days selling at the swap meet too hot or too cold* was total death. Sad to say, nothing less than picture postcard weather will get people out of the house around here.

*I concede that the California definition of hot and cold may differ considerably from that of the rest of the world.

Very very nice Shangas! I love the tie and the boater is great on you :)

Thanks Rue.

All these comments are really boosting my confidence in wearing a boater, and pride that I actually went and bought one.

Off for a haircut today. Hopefully when I take another photo, I'll look a bit more presentable for summer!

Actually, I'd include you --and several others who are no longer on the Lounge-- with Sproily and thunderw21. Paddy is also a major contender. (The list suddenly grew!)
Well, thank you Sir. It is far too nice. I only own a few good pieces but love them to death. Maybe this makes the difference. There are a lot of member who score the greatest suits I have ever seen but don't post pictures of them when they are worn very often. You, Marc, are one of them ;-) Salieri had some great finds. I can't compete with suits like this. On the other hand I don't see it as competetion. I would love to see more inspiration from all of you.

To be brutally honest, I don't take the time and effort to snap and post photos of my own collection because the level of Loungers' interest in such things is dwindling by the day.

You should have seen what a thriving place this section was from 2004 to 2008. The inevitable growth of the Lounge and the rotten economy have had a hand in diminishing its levels of quantity and quality.

If you're talking about suits, at least you're lucky you have some, Marc!

I've got one butt-ugly modern monstrosity that hardly counts as a suit. I wore it ONCE for university graduation, and that was IT. It's remained in its dust-bag ever since.

I don't post in this thread much now, but here's me a couple days ago. I also wore a checked jacket, but the photo was for the plus fours. I recently finished them from an Eva Dress reproduction pattern. The tie is vintage, the collar is also home made.

The plus fours are great! I saw them on your FB page a few days ago and was really impressed. I still don't know if I want to wear this kind of trousers myself but seeing you or Sproily looking so good in them....makes me think. I know my girlfriend has some pattern for them. Maybe soon...

Well ok. Maybe compared to the total number of members the "suit guys" are only a few. But was it really different back on 2004? Maybe there was only more enthusiasm because some details were "new" to the online community. Also there was more clothes for fewer guys...so some could make a good deal...for cheap. Tell me if I am wrong. I wasn't here at this time.

But the enthusiasm is still there. If one would make good pictures of all your suits and make a book ...I would buy it at once!
