Cold weather is much kinder to make-up (Though I bet its not as cold there as it is here, FWGal ;))

Today:

Benefit's Magic Ink eyeliner
Bare Escentuals's Mineral Veil
Buxom eyeshadow in Pug and mascara
NYC eyebrow pencil in black
Benefit's Flirt Alert lipstick

I matched my flaming red lipstick to a flaming red sweater :D

OOh, hot stuff!! Red lips and a sweater sounds delish! Actually today, i had an olive green dress and olive green eyeshadow. Great minds think alike! I quite like being matchy-matchy with the clothes and the slap. It pulls a look together i think rather well.

You girls need to be posting photos of your fabulous makeup & wardrobe match-ups! :D

Today I'm about the same as yesterday, 'cept I wore the Guerlain 29 Rue de Sevres eyeshadow palette.

I like that! I like when they contrast too, like my turquoise shadow with my pink sweaters. :) Great minds indeed!

FWGal, that palette is gorgeous!

Has anyone caught a glimpse of MAC's Christmas collection yet? I want the Shimmermint eyeshadow...

Today -

Foundation: L'Oreal True Match compact in W1
Powder: Clinique blended face powder, Guerlain Meteorites
Blush: MAC Well Dressed
Brows: Lorac Auburn brow pencil
Eyes: MAC Painterly paint pot, MAC grey quad (Tone Grey, Warmer White, Waft, Right Smoke)
Lips: NYX pink pencil, Julie Hewett Film Noir lipstick

I picked up several Maybelline Dream Mousse blushes/bronzers at lunch - they were on sale & I had coupons, so they ended up being less than $1 each. Anyone use these and what do you think? I picked up Coffee Cake, Plum Wine, and 2 of the bronzers to try.

Every day really:

Powder: Besame, light
Mascara: Besame, black 1930's mascara
Lipstick: Besame, Carmine

Typed down it looks as though I'm a little lacking in imagination when it comes to cosmetics, but what I have feels like it was made for me so I'm happy.

I love the blushes, i really do. They go on very well and last for ages. I think they compete with some of the more top end blushes. I haven't tried the bronzers though.

I did get a sample of BE Warmth the other day and i think it's fab. I'm not a great one for bronzer, but it goes on very sheer. I tend to go through a really sallow, yucky skin stage at this time of year, i basically look like a cadaver, until my skin settles into winter a bit.

Today:

Primer - Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
Eyeliner - Benefit's Magic Ink

I'm not partial to any make-up brand... Not at all ;)

Good to know on the Maybelline mousse blushes. I haven't tried them yet. They look so interesting.

I like BE Warmth because it isn't overly shimmery, like some of their other face colors. It also isn't too orangey or brown, it has a really nice natural color. I have a couple of others (True, Warm Radiance) and they aren't great for daywear unless you want to look like a disco ball.

Primer: No17 BB balm. (It's meant to be invisible makeup, but it's a great primer and only costs a fiver)!

I just read an article in Redbook last night about BB Balms, and now I'm really anxious to try one. The article made it sound almost like it was a tinted moisturizer. Is it more like a primer?

Me and one of my best friends challenged eachother to a drugstore makeup-off. The goal was to get our usual looks using only cheap things from CVS, including brushes. I had some really mixed feelings about what I used, and was not thrilled with my overall results. My lips and eyebrows were definitely a little wonky.

She won, but here is what I used and my results.

Foundation: Fit 120
Mascara: Maybeline falsies
Eyebrows: L'oreal HIP eyeshadow
Lips: L'oreal HIP liquid lipcolor (which was awful!)
Eyeliner: L'oreal Telescopic waterproof (Also awful!)
Concealer: Wet n Wild
Blush: Some physicians formula round thing
Eyeshadow: NYC palate

Thanks!

The foundation I would have liked if I had picked the right color for myself, it was just a little too pink for me. It had good coverage though and wasn't too oily.

The mascara wasn't bad either, it made my lashes really dark and long, just not very thick. But I think I'll be adding it to my arsenal of makeup I use.

The lipstick and liquid eyeliner just wouldn't stay in place though. I'm sure you can see in the picture my lips are a little lopsided. :( And they eyeliner even after it dried kept going up on my eyelid.

^ Interesting experiment, ginfizz! In the past I have always been a high-end/department store/Sephora cosmetic buyer, but I think there are some very nice drugstore products out there. Since I started clipping coupons I get a lot of drugstore stuff free or cheap, so I have ended up trying quite a few products I wouldn't normally have even looked at. At this point I wear and have tried everything from Chanel & Guerlain to Cover Girl.

My drugstore staples are mostly L'Oreal products: L'Oreal HIP Studio Secrets magic perfecting base (primer - blows Smashbox Photo Finish out of the water IMHO), L'Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute Age Reversing foundation, L'Oreal True Match compact foundation & powder, L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow duos, Physicians Formula Happy Booster rose blush, and Coty Airspun loose powder.

Today I'm wearing:
Foundation: L'Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute Age Reversing foundation in light ivory
Powder: Clinique Blended loose powder, Guerlain Meteorities
Blush: MAC Well Dressed
Eyes: Lorac Auburn brow pencil, MAC Painterly paint pot, Guerlain 29 Rue de Sevres palette, Cover Girl waterproof black mascara
Lips: NYX pink liner, Julie Hewett Oona Noir lipstick

Actually i think it is a bit of both, i mean this No.17 one, which is really at the bottom end of the drugstore spectrum, well, i was surprised at how good it was. I used it with some True match foundation over the top and it kept me pretty oil-less all day, plus it evened out my skin tone rather well. I did use it the other day when i was at home, with a little translucent powder and it was pretty good, considering my icky skin.

The no.17 is advertised as a no makeup, makeup, so it primes and provides spf, plus light to medium coverage in one.
