I also just bought a lot of 5 vintage bows on etsy a few days ago. I'll post up some pictures when I get them.

I blush to add my offering, in view of Twill's outstanding contributions~
This week's BTF combo is a Talbott number; ps is, again, a refugee from the Nordstroms Rack

edit: Realize the tie is askew; it is not me being jaunty....

This week's Bow Tie Friday escapade features an appearance of a number from The Original Adjustolux Tie company. Worn with wool navy blazer and orange-y ps.

edit: Wow, the colors vary wildly, do they not? The close-up of the bow tie is truer to life.

I got these three vintage silk bow ties from a charity shop yesterday, £2.50 each. I might go back, the shop has a surprising amount of silk bow ties from Harrods (but those ones appeared much more modern).

Great finds! Could you please post a photo of the adjustable part with the label?

If this has been asked and answered, I apologize, but I haven't waded through the whole thread ...
Anyway, Does anyone know why Winston Churchill appears to have always been photographed wearing the same bow tie?

It looks like it was a navy tie with small white dots.

Could it be a school or regimental tie? Or did that just keep him from having to pick one in the morning?

Just wondering ...

I don't believe it was anything other tan a personal fashion choice. The tie was either navy or black, I assume.... only ever seen b&w photos. He probably either only had the one or a handful of them and just wore it often.

In recent days I read through all 82 pages of this thread. I recently started experimenting with wearing bow ties other than with a dinner jacket. Here is one I recently wore. It has no brand name on it but I got it at a vintage store in Detroit and I think it is fairly old.
