why thank you! i take that as a huge compliment! day to day i'm just casual fifties/sixties vintage with slacks, sweaters and cat-eyes. but on the weekends/ on stage/ for photoshoots i like to surprise myself! i still dress "pure" though, last saturday i was the perfect fifties housewife in matching powder pink! however, i don't think people here like my new creative style much, i'm not as old-school as i used to be, so i probably don't fit in anymore. but i'm forever grateful for the vast amounts of vintage knowledge and fashion sense FL gave me! i found my feminine side thanks to you all!
I hope you don't take this the wrong way, because I intend it as a compliment. Your style reminds me *so* much of Little Edie Beale! She had her own really unique vintage style and she owned it. I see you mix all sorts of vintage and rock it out, and I dig it.

With that said, I can't quietly sit by then and not tell you that I enjoy your photos, whether it 50's kitten or 60's mod. And what I like most about your style is that you look like you'd be up for anything and that you'd have fun doing it, you don't take yourself too seriously and your sense of joy is very apparent. Who couldn't like a gal like that? :)

Thank you for those kind words! PM me if you want a new friend <3
In all fairness, I don't hang out here much anymore, though I used to all the time. I'm like that with many things: I go into something completely, learn all I can, and make it a part of me. Then, when I need new inspiration, I move on. I'm grateful for meeting some great people here though. Goldwyn Girl, please PM me if you see this!

What's more, I find it interesting that the more you learn about vintage fashion, the freer you feel. I remember when I was a newbie and worried about wearing 40's shoes or 40's hair with a 50's dress. The ice queen pic above may look super ugly to some of you because it reminds you of the seventies when you were young, or maybe of todays fashion(?). But my long hair that is wavy from being braided along with the turban is atually inspired by 1920's beauty pageants. All the girls had long tresses in the beginning of what would become Miss America.

Cherry Lips, your outfits are always among my favorites, precisely because you're so free and creative with your vintage style :)

That ice queen look is adorably glamourous; to me it looks a bit like Norma Desmond meets Sonja Henie! (...a good thing, in my book!)

Hahaha! That most be the best and funniest compliment ever! I have a framed Sonja Henie program on my wall, and it goes without saying that I'm a Norma Desmond fan; so we must have the same book! I only wish you lived in Texas (where I plan to move). This goes for all my friends here!

Your outfit doesn't look ugly to me at all! And actually it is more reminiscent of the 60s for me than the 70s. I think you look beautiful! :)

So I was doing a fashion show at a sex convention for a local shop selling Pinup Girl and Bettie Page, and the shop owner got the idea that she would like someone to go up with what looks like nothing but a giant pink powder puff, though there would be full coverage frilly underwear underneath. I thought, I'm in a brave mood, sure! So I did the show and it was so exhilarating I decided to go about handing out store flyers like that. These people at this photo area with a cage said I needed a picture, and of course I said "Where exactly do you think I'm going to keep a wallet?" so they let me have the picture for free haha. I really like the picture, but I'm hesitant to put it on facebook for fear they'll think it's pretty scandalous and call me a ho or something. What do you think? Too much?

Not too much! And who cares what others may think. It's such a cute idea!

hello everyone! :) i have just recently started getting into vintage modeling/pinup :) i wanted to get do it for a long time, but i worried my smile would somehow get in the way, but now that im confident that it wont hinder me im very excited to get started! :) i was just wondering if anyone had any tips for me :) i do the 1920's style pinup
here are some links to a few pictures that are great examples for the modeling style im going for

Im also not against the idea of nude and topless as long as they are classy because iv seen allot of because ones from the 1920s that inspire me, but i would like some feedback on this particular subject. :) here are some of those 1920s pictures that inspired me to consider doing that

[Links deleted due to Lounge policy on nudity.]

i wouldn't want to do allot of pictures like that, but im not against having a few :) id like to know some your opinions on this through :)

I'm very new to pinup modeling so any advice and tips would be amazing! :)
