This is a thread dedicated to Gordon Hats. They are a pretty rare brand and every time one pops up, they seem to be very interesting. I have scoured the lounge for everything GORDON related. Here's all that I have found. If you have a Gordon hat, hat box, ad, info, etc, please post it here.

Dinerman's Gordon's

I got a "Velour Mens Irish Derby" on ebay. I was the only bidder for ten bucks.

As I suspected, it turned out to be an early fedora/homburg type hybrid.

Overall of hat. Wide overwelt brim edge.

Ribbon with intentionally frayed back edge

Genuine velour. The other hats of this style I've seen and own are all long napped finishes.

Size tag sticker on taped sweatband seam. String, instead of ribbon, bow

Size tag, reorder tag, union tag. Large union tag, as I've seen on other hats of this period Not sure when they switched over to the smaller ones, but it'd be nice to know for general dating purposes

Gordon tag. Anyone know anything about gordon?

My former 30's Gordon with really interesting sweatband...

I won this hat from ebay last week, and I just picked up the box today. I love this hat. The felt color mixed with the ribbon color is really neat in person. The felt is very soft. There is some mothing, but it doesn't bother me. The sweatband is by far the coolest feature of the hat. Heres some pics:

SWEET Gordon Box....most likely from the 1930's

I agree, Josh. Gordon Hats are definitely deserving of a thread documenting their history as well as examples of their fine hats.

Here are a few photos of my Gordon Hats box, tucked away in an attic for decades and brought to a small antiques show in St. Paul last month, sadly without the hat it once protected.
