The m39 can be had for $30 new so thats good. Maybe I´ll get one of those for now.
I think its a little flat tho, I seldom stuff it full so its gonna look like an emtpy bag on the back.

Griff, have you tried looking on Etsy at all? It's a source of far too many odd things like leather backpacks.

This one is up for sale next door to you in Sweden.

Hi, I just got a U.S.govt. issue army back pack in desert camo. You can`t beat U.S. made contract goods. I have used it even while wearing my A-2. The look of both together I guess is like a then and now.

Yes, those are cool. A retired E-8 in my office has one. Has a spot for name and rank.

You guys are great.
SJ, I don't know what he's going to pick out of the bunch, but I think for myself, I'm going to get one of those in olive. Good price, and the right size and look for me.
Much appreciated fellas.

Woolrich are doing a very nice canvas canoe pack, which I believe is made by Duluth. (Correction, Frost River.) Oki-ni have it in stock, but I suspect that you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

Edited to add: Redwing Amsterdam and Conrad Hasselbach carry it in sage, which looks better.

I have this in green for everyday: http://duluthpack.com/outdoor-gear/...s/daypacks-backpacks/sparky-bag-backpack.html

And this in waxed cotton for weekend travel: http://duluthpack.com/luggage/luggage-bags/duffels-bags/sportsmans-duffels.html

My wife had the guys at Frost River make one of these for her in all leather: http://www.frostriver.com/briefcases/single.html

I'll try to take some pics.

We took a trip to Duluth last summer. Which I highly recommend, BTW. Duluth is pretty cool, they've got Duluth Pack, Frost River and Aerostich (motorcycle gear.) Plus you can rent kayaks or canoes.

I think classic waxed cotton can't be beat with a leather jacket. All leather everything is overkill, IMO.

According to my trendy girlfriend, messenger bags are what everyone is using these days. She bought me one from Timbuk2. When my wife said, "nice bag, where did you get that?"........I was caught off guard. Locally, Mission Workshop and Rickshaw Bags are also gaining in popularity.

Without Classic Dayback and / or Dust Pan ;)

Looks really good. Its bigger then I thought.
Do you find it cumbersome to strap and unstrap the straps often? This is something Im thinking about, the way I will use it will make me have to open and close it often and a zip would be better but the straps looks great.
