The changing seasons always give me a head cold, too. You're certainly not alone, there! Some Jack and Coke will clear ya right up :p lol

No Christmas songs for me, yet! Thank you very much!

I know! I couldn't believe it when I heard my first Christmas song the day after Halloween. I like to enjoy my jack-o-lantern a little bit longer. I feel like I just barely got to enjoy the Monster Mash not too long ago. lol

Poor Thanksgiving. I always feel it's like the holiday that kind of gets forgotten about. I think it's just as important (message wise) as Christmas. I must be getting really sentimental as I get older. lol

My grandmother was probaby more vociferous than you are about Thanksgiving. She thought they lost the meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas. To get her to put up a tree every year was a quite a chore.:rolleyes:lol lol

As I'm sure I've said before..Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. My parents and Aunts always made it a big production. An old fashion decorated frosty glowing sparkling Christmas. Cornish hen...ham..beef&noodles...plain/oyster dressing...'cranberries'...gravies..potatoes...old fashion cream pie..mincemeat(yuk)...peach cobbler...snickerdoodles...sugar cookies...bread pudding..enough for dozens even though only a dozen may sit at the table.
I enjoy family opening their presents with a glimmer of wide-eyed surprise. The sneaky research that goes into finding what only may be a little something for their hearts desire...but taking the time to investigate something they may personally react to with a smile. Not only the kiddies..but also those who's first concern has been a tireless effort to bring that same spirit to the children.
Four children/spouses...eight GrandKids..and a few friend's presents are now stacked in the family room(done early this year)to be wrapped little bit at a time. I'm no wrapper(dispise it)! Thank gawd it's my Wife's joy to do it. Tree goes up first weekend in December (different color lights each year) for that same Wife and Son to string.
Merry Christmas soon!

Perhaps some would rather say...'the spirit of Good'
There is always something anyone can 'Give'...

I agree!
I enjoy so much the energy, the atmosphere of Christmas. Decorating the yard with lights and decorations that cause people to slow down and gawk or that they can be seen a block away is a small part of what makes Christmas special. Decorating the house and putting up the trees all while sipping hot cider and listening to Christmas music bring back wonderful memories from my childhood with Mom and Dad. I could go on forever for Christmas is the most wonderful time of year.

For me..it's sharing the abundance for both holidays..no matter how slim. 'Giving' free of charge..with no expectations of anyone 'returning the favor'. 'Spending' something on someone in need...even if it's only 'time'. Afterall..we are all in need. Caring for other's joy. The kind of Spirit that can heal a lonely heart..even if it may be the giver's,too.

I'll have to agree with you, there! Thanksgiving gets lost in the jumble of things, especially in my neck of the woods. The holiday trinity of the last part of the year is Halloween, Deer Season, and Christmas lol

I'll send you my address so you can send all that giving free of charge. :p lol lol lol
