Ravioli with Bolognese-sauce.

I tell you, I don't know, how the canned supermarket-stuff is worldwide, but this german storebrand-stuff is better than ever. :) The old strange Ravioli-taste is gone, really.

It's lent, and that means no meat and no alcohol. So with that in mind, I like getting creative.
One small onion finely chopped, a couple of garlic cloves. Half a pound of chopped walnut mushrooms. One pint of vegetable stock, two large spoons of cream, or crème fraiche, if you are calorie counting. Worcester sauce, a level teaspoonful of paprika, one or two small stalks of parsley, chopped very fine, all cooked in a pan, in that order and served on a bed of rice.

Cut a venison roast across the grain in thick slices and pounded it into cube steak like pieces, dredged it in flour after seasoning, and after a quick sautee, I made an onion/garlic gravy to simmer it in. Served over noodles alongside some green beans.

I'll be there in ten minutes. [emoji2]

All this meat to tease me, you wicked lot. Don't worry, come Easter Sunday, I'll be there, roast beef, red wine and crème brulee. but for now, fresh vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower & carrots with dauphinoise potatoes.

Dinner out - quarter chicken (white) with a half rack of baby back ribs and fries at Swiss Chalet (Canadians will know all about that).

I was supposed to share with my wee one who was feeling a bit off, but she ate none of it.

Not surprised - she brought up shortly after we got home!
