Very nice. That fabric looks like it was designed by Edvard Munch in his Scream period.

Here is a sighting out in the wild of the Wool O'Wisp I posted the other day.

I know I'm hiding the better parts, but I think of it as protection.

It's a great tie. And I love it's name too! Very whimsical.

I found this tie at a church tag sale today. It is 54" long, and 2 3/8" wide. I'm guessing it's from the 1960s. It was made by a company called Columbus, and the tie is called "The Suburban".

Mean Eyed Matt you're right, that's a great brocade. The pattern and colors are fantastic!

Nice to see them in action Michael and RS.

Michael the hand loomed woolie works very well with the tweed vest. Sharp!

The Suburban goes well with that
3 button Retro Spectator. Nice Kennedy Era vibe you got going, it suits you.

Thanks fellows. I've been on an experiment of never wearing the same set of clothes twice. But about maybe once every two weeks or so I hit on a combo that really works for me and they go into the memory banks for future use when the experiment is over. This one was one of them. The Donegal vest is handloomed as well, by one of the last makers in Ireland.

That is a nice suit you picked up RS. Fits like it was made for you. I really have a hard time finding good vintage suits in my area.

And a nice old deco tie Melancholic N.

I bought this collection of 30's - 50's ties on ebay a little while ago. Some are just my taste, others not so much. Still they are all nice in their own way!

The one I was talking about:
grey & black shiny one with nice pattern: Rayon (???) - possibly German 1920's (or 10's ?) - 4 1/3" x 45 1/3" - very skinny at the neck part
... sadly damaged and "restored" & bad ironed, too.
And you can see the selvedge edge on the big (!) blade, Eddie:

What a great pattern! It's a shame about the damages... I don't know, though, if you can say it's badly ironed, ties from these years often have an odd shape similar to this one where they get really wide towards the end. (a shape that I actually really like!)

Killer haul Dostioffsky!! I agree with Bob, the Hollyvogue is my favorite, but there's not a one in the lot I wouldn't wear. Congrats.
