Blue, so sorry that this tragedy has touched your church family. My prayers are out to all of you.It's a mournful and introspective day, today. Last Tuesday, the wife of our church's director of religious education was shot and killed while driving home from our Lenten confession service. Apparently, one gangster caught a rival gangster tagging his apartment complex. He opened fire on the tagger and a stray bullet hit our DRE's wife in the head. Her funeral is today (I'm about to leave the office to attend the service), so please keep her husband and daughter in your thoughts and prayers.

That's how it starts. During my first eye exam the optometrist told me, "Hold off on wearing glasses as long as you can, because once you start wearing them regularly your eyes will become dependent on them and you'll need them all of the time." He went on to explain this is because when you wear eyeglasses your eyes focus on the image in the lenses and not on what you're looking at. And he was right. I finally had to give in about 12-13 years ago and start wearing my glasses if I wanted to read something, and now I can't read anything with small print without them.
