One of these from 1982. It's 42 degrees Fahrenheit. The Bluey - when I was growing up in the 1970's up until the early 1990's the bluey was the most common and celebrated Australian work coat. They were worn by all tradesmen and by railway workers and linesmen. Often issued by government and companies. Now you don't see them anymore and workers wear awful but safer hi vis nylon crap.

This isn't my photo but a good example. Mine looks exactly the same. They also came in black and brown. They are like the British Donkey jacket but unlike those they never had leather shoulders.

I like that Bluey. Great shape on the pocket flaps. Does it have a one piece sleeve?

Thanks for all the opinions on the Carhartt embroidery. I'm leaving it for now, mostly because I'm too lazy to do anything about it anyway. Ha ha. Today it's a Montgomery Ward shirt jac that I think dates back to the '60s.

Pretty basic item here with no yokes and a convertible collar. Heavy wool or more likely reprocessed wool and nylon blend.

Have a good one,

View attachment 84021 "Action" shot of my Excelled G-1 in the ship's pilot house. Rainy, chilly, windy, mini-Nor'easter today. I've added an orange safety "ditch" whistle and loaded the pockets with a Swiss Army knife, Ray Bans, Chapstick, wallet, iPhone and other essentials and now this is my "official" work jacket.
this is the proof earth is round, because from where I live I see your photo upside down

Im wearing an Acid Washed Levi's Denim Jacket lately with a cool stencil on the back, I bleached it and made the stencil myself..I'll post pics, Actually its been cold enough lately to wear a red woolen shirt and my split-S G-1, I got a few compiments on the G-1 jacket, they are notably out of fashion in this day and age, Red lumber Jack shirts seem to be a little more in style however, I suppose those things are true centennial classics.

57 degrees this morning. It's not quite here yet but jacket season is right around the corner. Had to get the Johnson Leathers out and remember how Much I love this sucker. I think another winter will really make the overdye pop.

I often say this but literally impossible to top in any possible aspect. Ever. Look at the sleeves, in one year it's gonna be 10x as nice. In 10 years, I can't even imagine... I'd never sell this. JL didn't make you a jacket, they made your jacket.

This and the Aero j106 are lifers. Everything else is just passing by. I agree man. Whenever I get the itch for another cross zip I just need to scurry over to the closet and try those two on!
