In the walk to meet Steve and greet him before his come back to Germany and then in the States I wore the Tonak, who kindly gave me

It is an intriguing hat just built after the war with all the raw material constraints existing in those difficult years

Without lining and with a sweatband made of different material from the leather it has a magnificent felt ina rich and warm brown

The proportions are typical of the Huckel hats of those years with wide wings and low crown

I still thank Steve for generosity and with the autumn colors I wish him a happy homecoming
Glad you and Steve had a good visit. This Tonak is really interesting. Even though it was made under austere conditions after the war, it is truly beautiful.

Wonderful picture!

Blue borsalino lightweight today (because the rest of the clothing turned out to be blue as well).

Blue becomes you Stefan.

Had to do some work on the Luscombe and found a Hawker Hurricane sharing the hanger ... so .... Wormser on a Hurricane.

What a wonderful find. Looks like a great restoration. Good place for a Wormser!

I just realized this was my 7,000th posting. This place is a big part of my life. Makes me a little weepy...

Mike it is a "son" of war, but really intriguing for some "informations" it had inside the crown and the sweatband.
I will introduce it on "Post new hat here" as soon as I can counting on a too dry autumn to allow me to use my open air photographic studio:)

We had a real good time.
A perfect cocktail: 1/3 of hats, 1/3 of Italian art beauties, 1/3 of Italian food!;)
