Footwear to go with our jackets

I have way more shoes and boots than leather jackets. IMO Alden shoes pretty much stand alone as the finest bench made shoe manufactured in the USA. The same is true for ML Leddy cowboy boots made in San Angelo TX and sold there and in their flagship store in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. For a casual walking shoe, I am partial to the Mephisto Match that are also sold in narrow size to accommodate my 13AA canoe feet. Anyhow if I had to restrict my footwear to only three brands, those three would be what I would choose.

Ok so I'm thinking these engineer boots I picked up... via kickstarter were a mistake, there seems to be almost no indent for a heel in the boot. Poor last maybe? Anyhow I'd really like a pair of engineer/harness style boots. Any recommendations?

I own five pairs of engineer boots and my favorite pair is the Wesco 7400. It uses the motor patrol toe instead of the standard Boss toe and that gives the boot a more classic feel. It also has a higher arch than the standard Wesco boss boot and I find it to be quite comfortable.
I like this boot so much, in fact, that I recently ordered another pair in brown domain leather.

Huh right on, I always have trouble with my flat arches and the pain that accompanies it. Finally found a decent set of insoles for my vibergs yesterday, game changer! How much do wescos run anyhow?

Broken Homme. They looked great on the site, not great when delivered. Some people seem to be impressed, a fair bit of anger as well mind you.

The Wesco 7400 run around $600.00. Standard Wesco Boss is about $420.00.

I've owned and loved the boots from the following manufacturers (and I'm a shoe snob)...

Edward Green
Viberg
Trickers
Crockett & Jones
Alden
Whites
Wesco
Red Wing Heritage

Dacks - a Canadian maker now defunct that sold great dress shoes and offered unusual leathers. I have Camel, Water Buffalo, Oxhide, and a Bison
Danner - only the Portland USA made, not their offshore lines
Dan Post & Tony Lama - for my ropers and cowboy boots.

I have had these Frye's for a long while now. They are on their second set of soles and going to need a third here at some point. I love 'em, they fit like a glove with a simple buckle system. The way they wear well with both black and brown leather jackets makes them a frequent choice for me. No side entry zips on these boots, don't even get me started on my loathing of zippers on boots.

Ah yeah, they indeed looked good, shame they did not deliver...
