Thanks Michael!

Are we going to get to see more of this and get all the specs in the Gannon thread? I'm trying to be patient, but that hat really checks all the boxes.

Was reading posts from a thread discussion on the differences between an R.M Williams and a basic Akubra Camp Draft. Well, if I recollect, one difference is that the R.M. Williams' brims are un-flanged. Can I wait to see? Nope!! :( But I have no choice! I was fortunate to find one that fits my 7 1/2 inch noggin. In the lyrics of Carly Simon, "Anticipation..." Here now a few pics. I Asked for a few more but only the final two were sent. Heart. Be still!

Nice! I have not seen an RM hat in silver belly. Very cool!

Like D.Handsome, I too bit the bullet and ordered
I finally bit on one of those "Promo" non-catalogued Stetsons. It was the three inch brim that did it for me.

It is supposed to be Caribou, but the photos look darker, but it could be the light.

As stated earlier, like you, bit the bullet and ordered the 'Highman.' Made by Stetson for Miller Brothers Hats. Similar to an OR/Startoliner...

Finally pulled the trigger and I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Heritage Campdraft in Moonstone.

I haven't been able to try on the Moonstone color in any retail locations, and I have been eyeing gray hats as well as Campdrafts. (My favorite jacket is a grey color that seems similar...so I'm hoping for good things.)

I love brown hats, but since I already have a dark Chocolate Open Road 6x and another lighter chocolate 4" brimmed cattleman, I didn't want to get ANOTHER chocolate-esque hat.

I'm pretty fair as far as complexion, so the Moonstone was a slight gamble for me. If I don't really love it, I might sell it here and order a Taupe Fawn color. Hopefully I won't lose too much $$$ on the gamble.

Under cool natural light Moonstone tends to photograph with a nice blue/gray tint. Same with any low light/incandescent situation. Under bright natural light it photographs more of a medium gray. Some variations:

Interesting. I've had the opposite experience--brighter light tends to bring out the bluish hue, but in lower/subdued lighting it looks like a simple mid-gray.
