Here's my newest lid, courtesy of eBay:

It's a Knox "Player", in black...

...with a nifty ribbon and trolley cord.

...never been worn.

The price? In my hands for about $40.

There's only one...

slight...

problem...

The size on the BOX is 7 1/2. The size on the hat tag is 7, a fact that the seller must have overlooked.

  :rage: [huh] :eusa_doh: lol

I'll probably be sending it back, but I'll post it in the classifieds here to see if any lounger can fit into it.

Man I feel for you. I was looking at that hat, but decided against it because I have enough black hats now, though I did like the ribbon. I bought another Knox Super Fine off ebay a year or so ago that was way wrong when I got it. They had measured around the outside of the hat rather than the inside. My seller refunded all but the shipping, I did not feel that I should have had to pay that, but oh well some is better than none. Good luck

You have to ASK ASK ASK

That is a great picture:eusa_clap lol

Seriously, and this has been posted in the LOUNGE before, long ago. Maybe it needs to be resurrected.

When you buy a hat on eBay or any other site, remember the rules:

1. the seller may know nothing about hats, condition, what a moth bite is, etc.

2. people don't know sizes today, other than S-M-L-XL. You have to ASK!

3. the hat tag is often missing. Have the seller look under the sweatband for the
"reorder tag". This has valuable info, including size.

4. the box usually NEVER is the original to the hat, so be suspicious of size labeling

5. ask them to CAREFULLY measure the hat size with a cloth tape on the inner sweat band. Divide by Pi (3.1414...) and you get the size. Ie. 23 inches divided by Pi equals 7.3211268079960328405376775584131, which is about a size 7 3/8.

Well, the seller has told me he will take it back and refund my money (I would expect nothing less). So, unless this guy joins the lounge in the next day or so, I guess it's going back where I found it. Too bad. I really would have liked it had it been my size.

it could happen. Zippy has friends who wear hats
