Whatever the colour name, it's a great color. Fine looking hat and outfit.

Thanks Red. I don't get this one out often enough.

Thanks Stefan. I will continue to test the proposition that it can go with anything. Ha ha.

I'd take a beater like that any day. Make that two beaters like that. Like the fence too.

Thanks all,
Michael
Thanks, Michael. I've been holding the Rogers Peet next to the Dattero: not the same. I think it's an Averla colour, but I have several of those, so I'll stick to Rogers Peet.

Echter Borsalino - Export Qualität probably later 1950s. The sweatband on this one melted about 6 years ago and had it replaced by Optimo Chicago.

Beautiful, Steve. Sweatbands don't last forever and the replacement is well done. What colour is this one?

Hat City Hat Co. from the mid 1950s today. This is my gray "beater" work hat. Doing some yard stuff while it is cool. Felts for the next few days here in Oregon!! Also a shot of the completed fence in the back yard. We left for Seattle on Friday and came home to a beautiful fence. Extra tall too, they added a "grass board" at the bottom, which makes it 7' instead of 6'.

I wish I had beater hats that look half as good, Mike.

It’s about 10 degrees below normal today. Being in the mid-eighties I thought felt was in order. I think I’ve only worn this 50s Melton Ten three times. So this makes four.

One to wear more often, Bill. Looks good. I like how it subtly changes color depending on the light.

It's fairly cool today. Felt weather again! The Borsalino Misto Stagno got its first wearing today.

This one was a stellar find Stefan. It is an interesting color in the sunshine, nice.

I consider this Hat City Hat Co. a beater because that was probably what it was when originally sold in the 1950s. This is truly an "entry level" or "cheap-o" hat. There was no price in it, but I would imagine it was at the bottom of quality level pricing. No bells and whistles, adequate felt, and not a recognized brand name. The Hat City reference in the name is to Danbury Connecticut where so many hats were made. It is an example of a beater from the era. I love it.

Somewhat cooler yesterday. Wanted to grab on of my felts from the bedroom, but Simone was still asleep. Ended up with a wool Monsivais cap instead.

The material this cap is made from is one of my favorites on the Lounge Serge. It is just "Joe Cool"!
