Very nice, getting closer! I assume that is the dark moss; what color is the ribbon?

The ribbon is plum. I’ve seen it on some vintage hats that I’ve admired. I think it could look smashing on the dark moss, but it’s hard to tell in photos. You pays your money, and you takes your choice.

I usually play it safe too. I look for maximum versatility and avoid the ostentatious. For this hat, I guess I had a wild hair. I also went a bit more showy with the bow.

And if you don't like the ribbon color, no worries. That's an easy fix right? The body looks great. I think the color combo should be worth trying. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Finally found an original cast iron stand for one of my straw braid sewing machines. This will allow it to be mounted and used on a table or bench without a cutout. I'm getting excited about making a few Milan straw and natural hemp braid hats this season.
