Anton Peschel Neutitschein, 57 cm, 140 grams, possibly later 1920s. This is the only (and one other on FL) complete branded APN Stiff or Soft Felt Hat I have so a very rare find. The felt is very similar to JHS Stiff Felts but that makes sense because they were very close neighbors. I really like the dimensions + form and it actually fits so that is an added bonus.

Melusine is not a term used in that time (at least for Men's Hats). It's Soleil Velour** like but not sure what processes it went through. Real Velour in the German / Austrian sense required Wild Hare plus Hot Wet Brushing during Felting. You can read more here.

** The unclipped (unshorn) velour hair is called “Flamand”, in this case the hair is long, undulated, soft and glossy as it reflects a lot of light. When the tips are clipped off and the hair is ironed all around or from top to bottom one talks about “Soleil”. Most difficult is the production of Upright “Open” Velour because in this case a particular tightness (or density?) and sturdiness of the hair is necessary and it is significantly harder to produce the same amount of gloss as where an entire, smooth surface displays. (This is from above article.)

This is more of an Upright "Open" Velour.

This one the hair length is slightly longer and amazing quality.

Fantastic! The bow / knot is a nice change of pace from what we typically see on these Sigma models.
