I’m having a bit of trouble loading these as they are a bit too big. See if I can remedy this and send more in a bit.

The only markings under the liner and under the sweat. Also close up of the liner logo attaching to liner.
Thanks again guys for all your kind remarks. If it matters, a lady donated this hat of her late husband, to an organization in Arizona that does charity work. That’s where I got it. She told the gentleman she thought her husband had it when they got married in 55. He knew enough to know the black rectangular size tag was 60’s. I’m sure she is like my wife, and perhaps some of yours, that she really doesn’t know. My wife always says “that’s nice” whenever I get another hat! Not putting my wife down, as she is actually very supportive. But she is into handbags, and I’m into hats. And that’s the name of that tune, as Beretta used to say!

@Robieman, no matter what some of us may determine about your hat, it's still a 100 and fairly rare, especially in that configuration. A favorite of mine BTW. Wearing mine as I write this and the gold filler on the Stetson debossment has disappeared, It's the same, shallow one as yours. I think yours is probably just faded gold. Enjoy that hat. Let's see some action pics.

Handbags are a LOT more expensive than hats, though. It's amazing. And they are a status symbol for them. 23,000 dollars for a purse? C'mon! And the saleswoman told me that the purses that aren't sold are destroyed.

You got it buddy. Thanks for that. I don’t believe for a minute anyone is being critical, I believe it may be a real unusual hat. Not that it is any better or worse, just different for some reason. Perhaps it was one of the late ones and they used what they had. Could it even be one that was sublet out during the later years? In any event, I am pleased with it, the price I paid helped some folks, and the lady that donated it was happy to hear someone who appreciates hats, got it. I say win win! Thanks again to you and all that have taken an interest in this hat.

The advantage my wife has over me is, that the handbags take up less space! I suppose we all have our addictions!!

This was an ebay find from a few months ago. The hat was in great condition structurally, but it needed some cosmetic work. I wanted to do it right, so I sent it off the VS for a clean, reblock, and a slight fit adjustment. The felt still has some slight soiling, but you have to be looking for it to see it.

It’s a 3.5 X 5.5 so I went shallow with the crease to keep the crown as tall as possible.

The fit is perfect! I don’t know how Art resizes leather sweatbands, but he’s a master at it. The felt is dense and firm without any of the harshness or roughness of modern felt. Despite the sweat being in almost perfect condition, I’m not tempting fate by looking behind the sweatband (I think I did when I first won the auction but I can’t find those photos).

Thanks, Bowen! I really do love this hat. I’m ashamed to say how little I paid for it...the refurbishment at VS was almost twice the cost of the hat. Even a blind squirrel finds the occasional nut.

Nice one, Brent. That one came from way down in south Texas!

This latest One-Hundred as a shot in the dark. I knew that the chances were it wouldn’t fit, but I also suspected I could find it a home as long as it wasn’t too small. I worried it would turn out to be a 6 5/8 or some similar small size. As it turns out, the factory size tag was still attached, but it was tucked under the sweatband. It’s in decent shape, with some ribbon water stains and there is a faint line all the way around the crown that I suspect was caused by another hat being stored top of it.

The felted/Mode edge brim is 2 1/2 inches wide and the open crown is just shy of 6 inches. The sweat is 2 inches wide and the ribbon is 3/4 inches wide. The liner is not sewn in and is help in place with tabs that suggest it was professionally reblocked at some point. The size tag is a fraction only (not a mixed number), so possibly one of the earlier 100s?
